Name, where are you from?
Robert Allan - Glasgow

What do you do?
Guitarist in Glasvegas.

Describe your style in three words?
Comfy as f*ck.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Brian Wilson - SECC - 'God Only Knows'.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
The Clash 1977 and Queen 1986 - two of the best live bands in history.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
The biggest influence is probably punk. Not only in the musical sense but the DIY ethos which as a band, we still have today. Growing up it was Britpop.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
I would love to hang out with Sam Cooke. He is one of the greatest soul singers the world has ever heard. 'A Change Is Gonna Come' is just as poignant now as it was back then.

Of all the independent venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
The Mercury Lounge in New York is always really special. I haven’t had a bad gig in that place and the crowd are always up for it. Debaser in Stockholm is a nice venue too. Gorilla in Manchester had a great vibe on the last tour.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
If it wasn’t for Oasis, I wouldn’t be in a band. They made a generation of people believe they could do whatever they wanted. So I’ll pick Liam and Noel.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
Oasis - 'Don’t Look Back in Anger'

A song that defines the teenage you?
Bob Marley and the Wailers - 'Stir It Up (Legend Version)'

One record you would keep forever?
Camera Obscura - Let’s Get Out of This Country - 'Razzle Dazzle Rose'

A song lyric that has inspired you?
Bob Marley - 'Get Up Stand Up' - "You can fool some people sometimes but you can’t fool all the people all the time" - GENIUS

A song you wished you had written?
James - 'Sit Down'

Best song to turn up loud?
Stooges - 'Search and Destroy'

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
Katy Perry - 'California Gurls'

The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
Beyonce - 'Love on Top'

Best song to end an all-nighter?
Cocteau Twins - 'Heaven or Las Vegas'

Any new bands you are into at the moment?
