03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Black, minimalistic, gothic.

The first track you played on repeat?

DAF - Der Mussolini

I was in my childhood room, after browsing through my father's record collection. It made me move my hips until I couldn't anymore and still does to this day. A brutal, rhythmic, electronic bassline. A tight drum beat and choppy vocals, das ist DAF. A bad boys feeling.

A song from your favorite album?

Pink Turns Blue - Walking on both Sides

My favourite song from my favourite album, nothing can describe my feelings in hard times more than this whole album.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Molchat Doma - На Дне

Molchat Doma is the current response to Joy Division. I heard them live in Cologne in the BüZe last year. The whole crowd jumped around, that concert is historic for me.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

The Cure - Boys Don't Cry

My mother is a fan of The Cure, she had, as a teenager, the same haircut as Robert Smith. So when I was a child I jumped to this naked through the living room.

A new song you're listening to?

Boy Harsher - LA

The most erotic voice in the whole EBM spectrum of our time, combined with a Miami Vice beat, let you feel like you’re driving in the coolest car, through the dark and street lamps trickle your skin.

Best song to turn up loud?

Nitzer Ebb - Let Your Body Learn

This is EBM. 24/7, this beat let me freak out.

A song that defines the teenage you?

Underworld - Born Slippy (Nuxx)

Rave, love, drugs and a lot of problems.

An anthemic song?

Rue Oberkampf - La course

EBM-Punk-Wave, so hypnotic, this song lets you feel the dance floor and the strobe lights when your eyes are closed, just through your headphones.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Trisomie 21 - The Last Song

Nothing to say anymore.
