Name, where are you from?
Cheap Teeth from Edinburgh.

Describe your style in three words?
Uncle Adam's Wardrobe.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
The best gig we've been to together would probably be seeing The Growlers at Leeds Stylus, they played for like 2 hours and this song was easily the highlight.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
We would have to go for some of the big dogs. Pixies & The Doors. The front men, the musicians, the songs, the energy. They both have them all.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
Crusties, Gutter Punks, Rude Bois.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
David Bowie, doesn't need much explaining but would love to pick his brain and find out what influenced him to re-imagine himself each time.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
Sneaky Pete's in Edinburgh is definitely our favourite. It's our hometown shack but it's just a genuine old-fashioned DIY venue. If it ain't broken don't fix it.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
One massively underrated guy is the jack of all trades/nicest man in music Nick Meadows. If anyone knows him they know it's true.
On an artist front it has to be the drummer from Protomartyr, he basically plays lead drums and has insanely fast hands.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
'This Love' by Maroon 5, not afraid to admit this.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'Family Tree' by Black Lips.

One record you would keep forever?
'Is This It?' by The Strokes.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
"Most religion is as far from faith,
as the sun is from the shadows it shapes."

'Thawing Dawn' by A. Savage.

The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Yes Sir, I Can Boogie' by Baccara, it was too hard to pick just one ABBA song.

A song you wished you had written?
'Ballad Of A Thin Man' by Bob Dylan, there's too many Dylan songs to choose from but this one is the pick of the bunch.

Best song to turn up loud?
'20th Century Boy' by T.Rex.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Once Was A Time' by The Mamas & The Papas.

Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'Rich Girl' by Hall & Oates, go to sleep happy.

Any new bands you are listening to right now?
'Foundation' by Public Practice (chosen by Joe L).
Met the drummer from Bodega last year and she gave me a napkin with some bands on to listen to. These were one of them. Love the 'drop' in it, if you can call it that.

'The Dial' by Squid (chosen by Sandy).
They nail the Television/Modern Lovers-esque attitude whilst still sounding original. The "if a pig could bark" sounding vocals halfway in are the icing on the cake.

'Stammering Bill' by LICE (chosen by Joe A).
The structure of this song is quite schizophrenic and the vocals seem to match it perfectly.

'Mess With The Couples' by HollowBodies (chosen by Tom).
These boys joined us on tour this year and I couldn't get this tune out my head for ages afterwards. Such a good start to a set.
