03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Homme girl boss.

The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?

Oasis - Some Might Say

Was still young when 'Morning Glory' came out, which instantly changed my life. I remembered to rewind my cassette tape over and over again on the deck or the walkman just to listen to 'Some Might Say'.

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

Joni Mitchell - A Case of You

To me, this album is so pure and poetic. It's a bit cliche, but I honestly get chills every time 'A Case of You' plays on the record machine.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Death Cab for Cutie - A Movie Script Ending

Death Cab's gig was one of the most memorable, just 'cause it was an impulsive decision during a trip. I used to listen to early Death Cab and drown in misery. But watching them at the Opera House was really something else. I cried when they played 'Movie Script Ending'.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Blondie - Heart Of Glass

I think this song might be one of those songs that always gets played in a pub Friday night. You just can't help but to move your shoulder and feet, sing a long, and next thing you know you're up and dancing.

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

Louise Verneuil - Le Beau Monde

I've been following Louise Verneuil for a while now and so far have enjoyed all her tracks. I think 'Le Beau Monde' is one of her best. She's just effortlessly cool.

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger

Every time 'Chelsea Dagger' plays, I just wanna turn it up to 11. It's one of those lads song that gets everyone together and gets you pumped up. Especially the "da da da", you can't help but to join in.

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

Arctic Monkeys - Leave Before The Lights Come On

Arctic Monkeys plays a big role in defining my musical journey and taste. This song was out during the height of my teenage years and was just always there to accompany me. It's one of those songs, you're not sure quite how, that just defines the very you.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

The Libertines - Don't Look Back Into The Sun

I think it's just one of those powerful songs that everyone knows and that binds people together. It's the lyrics, the guitars, the chants, and the sense of excitement that the song delivers, which makes it a top anthem at gigs, the pub, even at home.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Conor Oberst - Till St. Dymphna Kicks Us Out

It's a literal song about getting kick out after an all nighter and just pure enjoyment of drinks with friends. I like how the song gives a relaxing feel and yet makes you want to continue your fun.
