Jess, London.
Atypical, distorted but sweet
Queens of the Stone Age at Rock en Seine festival in Paris. When they played 'Go With The Flow', I got goosebumps.
It would be Noir Désir, best French band, in my opinion, listen to 'Tostaky', and Argentinian band Soda Stereo, check out 'Primavera 0'.
Punk, Britpop, Garage Rock and Alternative Latin music.
The writer Carlos Castaneda.
Stereo Cafe in Glasgow with Scottish band Rascalton, it looks and sounds amazing, and the food is delicious.
Residente, singer and founder of the band Calle 13. His lyrics touch me deeply as they translate exactly what many young people living in South America might feel, I relate to what he says and thanks to his lyrics I can sort of explain to my friends what growing up in South America is like, with a touch of humour. Also, his activism and constant fight for education in Latin America make him one of my musical heroes. One of my favourite tracks from Calle 13 is 'Multiviral', a song featuring Tom Morello, Julian Assange and Kamilya Jubran.
Calva Louise are a three-piece band from London who originally featured as part of our British New Wave 2018.
They will release their new EP 'POPURRÍ' on 16th July 2020.
'Losing My Religion' by R.E.M.
'Know Your Enemy' by Rage Against The Machine.
'The Doors' by The Doors.
"But I want something good to die for,
to make it beautiful to live"
From 'Go With The Flow' by Queens of the Stone Age.
'Hazy Shade of Winter' by Simon and Garfunkel.
'Que No Te Haga Bobo Jacobo' by Molotov.
'Not Gonna Get Us' by t.A.T.u.
'Bellbottoms' by Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.
Strange Bones, Lice, The Starlight Magic Hour, Nova Twins, False Heads, Long Teeth, Rascalton.
