Cleopatra - Cleopatra's Theme

I just got my hair braided and I literally thought I could be the fourth member of Cleopatra. I was 9 years old and this was the first time I saw young girls that looked like me on TV singing a song I could remember!

A song from your favorite album?

Burna Boy - Another Story (ft. M.anifest)

When Burna Boy released this album, I am not sure if he realised how big of an impact this album would be. I encourage everyone to watch the video to 'Another Story' one of my favourite songs from the album, it is about the history of British colonial rule over Nigeria.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Kendrick Lamar - Backseat Freestyle

Kendrick Lamar. DAMN Tour, 2018. Best gig ever! When this song came on, I just remember singing at the top of my lungs... "Martin had a dream!..."

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Skinny Fabulous - Famalay

This song is a carnival anthem, for the past 10 years, I have been part of Notting Hill Carnival. Judging point is the most important part of the carnival route for bands. Glad to say we won our category in small bands and I'm sure it was down to this song! ha

A new song you're listening to?

CLIPZ - Again (feat. Ms Banks, Ms Dynamite & Jaykae)

Ms Dynamite was easily one of my favourite MC's when growing up. Garage, Jungle, Grime were all I listened to, so the little black girl inside me was screaming when I heard this collab with Ms Banks!

Best song to turn up loud?

Dave - Black

I think with what is happening at the moment, Dave's song 'Black' sums up every emotion and message that needs to be heard. We need to stand united against racism and racial injustice in the black community.

A song that defines the teenage you?

DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was literally on repeat in my house growing up, once I learnt all the words to the theme song I pretty much felt invincible.

An anthemic song?

Bob Marley & The Wailers - One Love / People Get Ready - Medley

Wherever I go and whoever I meet this song translates in the same way. To put it simple, One Love is an expression of unity and inclusion, which I think always brings people of different cultures together.

Cameo - Candy
