03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Groove keep grooving.

The first track you played on repeat?

The Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up

Mum used to have MTV on a lot as a kid and apparently used to run around in circles whenever it came on.

A song from your favorite album?

Leon Vynehall - Be Brave, Clench Fists

The whole EP got my mum through a rough patch when she struggling with RA, the way Leon Vynehall can sculpt hope and love into something which you can tap into again and again is truly inspiring.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Danny Brown - Pneumonia

After spending the whole of summer with Atrocity Exhibition on repeat, to actually get to hear him play Pneumonia live at Bestival in 2017 is a moment I will never forget.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Sneaker Pimps - Spin Spin Sugar - Armand's Dark Garage Mix

I remember it being played in the club below when I was a kid and couldn't sit still. Still can't and if I ever hear that beginning string section, you've lost me.

A new song you're listening to?

Skin On Skin - Way Ur Touchin Me

In love with Skin On Skins' sound and after months of desperate searching for radio rips, it finally got the streaming release so now I can soundtrack my life with it.

Best song to turn up loud?

Daniel Avery - Movement - Original Mix

Generally more loudness = more sub, your gonna need all you can get and just let that dub wash right over you.

A song that defines the teenage you?

Flying Lotus feat. Andreya Triana - Tea Leaf Dancers

First ever record I bought in Brighton when I was 14, I was obsessed with all of Flying Lotus's releases and used to let Andreya Triana lull me to sleep. Still do.

An anthemic song?

DJ Rashad - In Da Club Before Eleven O' Clock

The title is me I can't lie.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Mark Farina - Dream Machine - DownTempo Mix

My mate Basti showed me this and just couldn't get it out of my head - the song blaring, ceiling staring, cigarette in hand makes for moments of bliss.
