A Junior Photo
Name, where are you from?
I'm Junior and I live in London.
What do you do?
I spend my time immersed in the arts. From photography and modelling to drawing portraits and customising clothing.
Describe your style in three words?
Comfortable, accessible, vintage.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
I have been to all of Troye Sivan’s London tours but one of my favourites has to be his Bloom tour. I cried and felt so loved during that concert – 'The Good Side' was the track that highlighted my night the most.
If you could put any three bands in history on a lineup?
Queen. Who doesn’t love a good Queen song with Freddie's command over the audience? It gives you a chance to let loose and scream the lyrics where everyone is joining it. ABBA. 'Dancing Queen' makes me feel extremely nostalgic, a lot of people are rediscovering ABBA and this makes me so incredibly happy. Coldplay. 'Yellow' is just a song that touches my heart, the pure love that comes from Coldplay's music is so warming. I would love to see them in concert someday.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
I would have to say that the LGBTQ+ culture has definitely had a major influence in my life – this is a community that I feel comfortable to be surrounded by as it consists of a large array of individuality and self-expression from so many people from different walks of life.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
David Bowie – he had such an interesting outlook on the world and didn’t follow any “rules” of how people thought music should be created.
Where is your favourite independent venue?
The Vauxhall Tavern is a venue that I’ve visited many times – all though it is small you forget and just truly enjoy yourself.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Dolly Parton – this amazing woman donates so much money and time to causes but so many people are unaware of the greatness that she has put into the world.
The first track you played on repeat?
'Pray' by The Erised.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'How To Save A Life' by The Fray.
One record you would keep forever?
'Racine Carrée' by Stromae.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
“Look at my life, look at my heart. I have seen them fall apart, now I'm ready to rise again”
From 'Rise' by Don Campbell.
A song you wished you had written?
'Just My Imagination' by The Temptations.
Best song to turn up loud?
'Best Thing I Never Had' by Beyonce.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Highway to Hell' by AC/DC.
A song to get you straight on the dance floor?
'The Cure & The Cause' by Fish Go Deep, Tracey K.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
'I Really Don’t Care' by Bilal.
