Pleats were always a sensible fashion staple, sewn into gowns, school skirts, tennis wear, and kilts for shape and movement - until punk came along and subverted it all. By the ‘70s, the blades of fabric were broad and thick - far from the pin pleats of the ‘50s - and adorned with safety pins and iron-on badges. Our pleated satin skirt gives a tougher edge to the always-in mini skirt, finished with Amy's embroidered love hearts, and our embroidered Laurel Wreath.
