Name, where are you from?
Hi we’re Nat, Josh, Evan, and Baz, we’re Bandit and we’re from Liverpool.
Describe your style in three words?
Last night’s clothes.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
N: Her’s in Liverpool. Those boys were a couple of years above me at uni and I really admired their songwriting, two very talented lads.
E: Ride, Manchester Albert Hall, May 2015. From the second they started up until the end, it was just a constant hit in the face with this kaleidoscopic wall of sound and ethereal vocals. It was just outstanding.
If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
J: We’d say Oasis, but Nat hates having the limelight taken from him.
B: Yeah it would definitely have to be Oasis for me, sounds a bit “generic” but I love their rawness that existed in their live shows.
J: Kylie Minogue as well. Appease two sets of fans and you just know it’s going to go off.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
J: Definitely some mod, punk and skater. There is a bit of everything from everyone in the band, but we’ve taken a lot of inspiration from these scenes recently, especially with the rise of Idles, Shame, and Fontaines DC. So maybe we have been more influenced by it now than we were beforehand by the likes of The Sex Pistols.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
E: Salvador Dali for me because I swear to god that fella pictured Star Wars well before the idea was even conceived. It would definitely take more than just an hour to even begin understanding what was going on in that dude’s head though.
J: Jaco Pastorius (famous electric bassist). A virtuosic bassist, and has inspired so many people, including myself. I’m not sure I’d even be able to ask him any questions, I would just sit there and watch him play. Pure Genius.
Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
E: It’s the Oporto in Leeds for me!
N: I’d have to go with Concorde 2 in Brighton.
J: We’ve played in Heebie Jeebies here in Liverpool, loved that.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
N: Greatest unsung hero for me is Broken Down Golf Cart, multi-talented artist in many creative capacities and a good friend.
E: Brian Eno. He’s the secret genius of taking your album to a solid 11/10 guaranteed.
