Describe your style in three words?
Clean, intentional, rememberable.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
Steve Miller Band - The Joker
I had this cassette as a kid and would rewind it over and over to sing along to this tune. It's still my go-go karaoke song!
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
Mr Twin Sister - Rude Boy
This band's music has always been able to lift our mood. It's filled the space on long drives on tour. It's filled our apartment in rainy days. They're sound is perfect.
A song from your most memorable gig?
High Waisted - Party in the Back
We were playing Music Hall of Williamsburg and just as the first chorus hit our crew dumped hundreds of balloons from the balcony onto the already dancing crowd. The look on everyone's faces when they realized they were being showered in pastel balloons was pure joy!
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
ABBA - Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)
This is the best disco song, the bass line slaps. Caroline rose.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Caroline Rose - Feel The Way I Want
We've been a fan of hers for years. But her Letterman performance just made us swoon and her new album is so danceable!
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
The White Stripes - Fell In Love With a Girl
It just makes me wanna bounce around and knock stuff over.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
The Format - The First Single (You Know Me)
I grew up with this band in Phoenix, Arizona. Jono, (High Waisted's drummer) loved them whole growing up all the way across the country on Long Island. Marko from this band actually recorded keys on our last album. It's all come full circle.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Weezer - Say It Ain't So
Just try to put this on with friends without everyone joining in to scream the chorus. It's painful to accept the truth when it's cruel.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Santo & Johnny - Sleepwalk
I close out every DJ set with this. It feels like a warm hug goodnight!
