A Roshan Photo
My name is Roshan and I’m a photographer and co-founder of the record label SaturdaySelects based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Casual, comfortable and oversized!
I think it means being part of a bigger collective of musicians and creatives that are just doing things they love.
I first dabbled in creative work when I picked up my first film camera around 7 years ago and I never looked back.
The people I’m around and the music I listen to every day inspires me to push my creative boundaries.
The Beatles 'With A Little Help From My Friends'.
Freddie Mercury and Queen.
It would have to be catching Jarreau Vandal and Mr Carmack in Singapore back in 2016.
Growing up listening to a lot of bands from the 70s and 80s, but tracks from Queen were definitely songs that defined my teenage years. If I had to pick one track, it would be 'The Show Must Go On' from Queen.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Brockhampton and Hablot Brown.
'Anita' by Smino feat T-Pain.
I was super excited when my favourite up and coming rapper teamed up with an R&B legend for this track
'Murder' by ROMderful featuring Emmavie.
ROMderful is one of my favourite producers out there and this track has been on repeat since it came out.
'GOLD' by Brockhampton.
They’re my favourite boy band. Haha!
'Honey' by Raveena.
It’s amazing to see a singer of Indian heritage doing big things plus she’s going to be on Camp Flognaw!
'Blue Lights' by Jorja Smith.
Loved the use of the Dizzie Rascal sample on the track and her voice is absolutely amazing.
'Ladders' by Mac Miller.
Mac Miller is just a classic, feel-good rapper all around.
'What If I Go?' by Mura Masa
The music video for this song really represented the youth in London and it was a track I could relate to at the time it came out.
'Pink + Blue' by Andre 3000.
Andre 3000 was always ahead of his time in terms of production and with the uniqueness of this, makes it one of my favourites ever.
"In The Middle of Things' Sango ft. SPZRKT.
This track is a classic from the best EP from my favourite duo.
'Ctrl Alt Del' by Bakar
My friend Max from Hong Kong put me onto this, and the title of the song really caught my attention/
'Glowed Up' by Kaytranada feat Anderson .Paak.
Nothing can go wrong with Kaytranada and Anderson .Paak.
'SEE YOU AGAIN' by Tyler, The Creator
I fell in love with this song after watching Tyler perform it live on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert
