03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

yellow, comfortable, cosy.

The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?

New Order - Age of Consent - 2015 Remaster

I heard it in a bar in the middle of nowhere in the north of Scotland and then listened to it on repeat when travelling in the car.

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

The Cure - Plainsong - Remastered

Disintegration was the first album I properly listened to on vinyl and it completely changed the atmosphere in my bedroom. 'Plainsong' makes me feel like I'm floating when I hear it.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Miles Kane - Coup De Grace

I went to go see Miles Kane at the Galvanisers Yard in Glasgow. I was right at the front and I can just remember staring up at him. The atmosphere was incredible, it was the middle of June when the weather can be a bit ropey but the rain held off.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

The Ninth Wave - Love You 'Til the End

It's got great rhythm to just jump around to in your bedroom.

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

The Big Moon - Your Light

The Big Moon are my ultimate girl band heroes. I would love nothing more than to just be apart of their world.

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

Arcade Fire - Everything Now

It's great to dance to and jump around to in my bedroom when the house is empty.

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

Clean Cut Kid - Vitamin C

It's a really great song about being there for people and supporting each other which I think is really important when you're young. Everyone goes through major things throughout their teens and knowing that your friends will be there for you is really comforting.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

Pulp - Disco 2000

It's just a classic party song really.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Paolo Nutini - Pencil Full of Lead

As someone who lives a relatively quiet life and has absolutely no experience of staying out all night, I can only imagine that dancing to a Nutini classic would be the way to go.
