Describe your style in three words?
Alternative-Funny, Jazzy, Outlandish.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
Black Eyed Peas - Sexy
In my bedroom, I was given a copy of the album when I was 8 years old. I would work out how to put my stereo on repeat and practice doing kick-ups with a football in my bedroom.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
Black Sabbath - Into the Void
This songs about leaving the destruction of the world and taking a rocket into space. Being a key worker during the current outbreak - I listen to it on my walk to work, knowing that we are currently living in a little doomed world. I love the realism!
A song from your most memorable gig?
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
British Summer Time - Hyde Park. The line up: Soulfly, Motörhead, Soundgarden, Faith No Mor, and Black Sabbath. Chris Cornell announced it would be the last time he played 4th of July album. His voice. It was incredible. Shined through the mix, so powerful.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
slowthai - Doorman
The rhythm, the backbeat, the melody, the bass-line. Slowthai shouting down the microphone - this combination makes me wanna get up and bop my head, sway my arms and scream ‘HELL Yeah!’
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Daniel OG - When I (Dumpy)
I went to school with this guy, and I met up with him after a show in Bristol. We went back to my house with his friends and (girlfriends)... He taught me to never take anything for granted. ‘When I step up in the place!’
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
IBBI - Sicily
This is one of my own songs. I never forget the best memories I have of me chilling out in the sun, enjoying the freedom of living life to its maximum. A great track to get up and dance too, and chill out too. The guitar solo is awesome!
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You - 1990 Remaster
I picked up guitar when I was 17. Someone showed me stairway to heaven. I was like... it’s okay... and then found out Led Zeppelin were a lot more than just one song! Since I’ve been loving you - I had a bootleg version with someone talking over the introduction for 10 seconds.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Rage Against The Machine - Wake Up
To end the film The Matrix, to be called Rage Against The Machine, to be named Wake Up. This true does sit for us today in society where we are governed by leaders that make our lives very machine like. It made us all put our fists in the air and say ‘WAKE UP!’
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Black Sabbath - Planet Caravan
Good come down track. The jazzy guitar playing of Tony Iommi makes you sit back and want to take it easy. Love, by yourself, with friends - it will relax you into another space. The night doesn’t end, it continues into rest.
