Describe your style in three words?
Comfortable casual vintage.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
Pulp - Babies
On the jukebox in my favourite pub in Manchester.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
The Cribs - Be Safe
The perfect album for any mood. Songs that make you feel good and songs like this that humble you. This album means a lot to me because it gives a sense of purpose no matter how low you feel.
A song from your most memorable gig?
The Snuts - What's Going On? - Demo
Saw The Snuts at Night People in Manchester last year, one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to- the venue was tiny and not sold out but packed with people singing every word and the atmosphere was unreal.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
The Smiths - Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now - 2011 Remaster
Ironically this song never fails to make me dance. I think it is the fact you can guiltlessly dance as arrogantly as Morrissey and get away with it.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Cabbage - Torture
I recently saw Cabbage play this as their newest single and from then I can’t stop listening to it. It’s such a different sound from what the band usually produce with the same witty political lyrics that I love.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
The National - Lemonworld
I listen to this song in the car and at home or walking through headphones. It’s calming and probably the most beautiful song I can think of, many reasons to turn this up loud.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
The Stone Roses - Elephant Stone - Remastered
I remember this was one of the first songs I heard that began to mould my music taste into what it is now. Playing it to my Dad thinking I had discovered something brilliant, only to be told that I was effectively reliving his youth!
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Kasabian - Club Foot
I think this song is so powerful as it is so easily recognisable no matter who you are. It is almost impossible to resist singing along to and one of the era defining anthems of the 00’s.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
The Strokes - Soma
The perfect balance of chilled and upbeat to end a night that has already climaxed and serotonin is diminishing.
