New York City. Bold as love.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Very tough question as there are so many different vibes...
Nas @ Alife Sessions, simply amazing, small venue, Nas in the middle of the crowd, standing on a milk crate, killing it.
I saw Bono and Edge play an acoustic 'Bloody Sunday' in JR's living room, amazing.
The Bad Brains in the '80s out in Long Island somewhere, amazing.
KRS early '90s, epic.
Fugazi in a cafeteria uptown for their first album, amazing new sounds.
If you could put any three bands in history on a lineup?
Again, this is tricky as I’m into so many genres. It's a bit dizzying to think about...
Jimi Hendrix, New Order and Black Sabbath. I’m not a concert promoter.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
Graffiti, contemporary art.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
My ancestors.
What is your favourite live music venue in New York?
Honestly, it's rare for me to catch a live show these days. I prefer small venues.
