Describe your style in three words?
Personal, Sustainable, Punk.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
The Specials - Ghost Town
My dad used to play this track and tell me about what the song was about and the state the country was in at the time, at the time I didn't care much to be honest! but I got a bit older and turned out I loved the song and had on repeat!
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
The Skints - Rise Up
One of my favorite bands of all time and an amazing album, that really made me fall in love with this band and research it more, it's probably the soundtrack to my summer, especially when I was younger and going to more festivals!
A song from your most memorable gig?
Calle 13 - Suave Mix - Blass Remix
I saw Residente a year or 2 ago at KOKO in Camden, seeing how a rapper and a band can make such an atmosphere in such a emotive way, amazing! One of my favourite artists having grown up bilingual and with Reggaeton having such a big impact on my youth.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Toots & The Maytals - 54-46 Was My Number
This is a song that's sort of come in and out of my life, growing up I would hear it now and again and wondered what it was, when I got more into the culture of Reggae & Ska, I found out it was Toots & Maytals and it's probably one of my top 3 songs in life!
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
D-Kel & Los Bandidos - Cold Island
i mean it would be wrong if I didn't include one of me and my bands song on a Fred Perry playlist right? ;)
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
Slaves - Cheer Up London
I'm big fan of Slaves! and I like this song, due to its message but yet still a sort of uplifting chorus and there quite loud, to their music is best played loud!
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
Kano - P's & Q's - live from Abbey Road Studios, London
I was quite the grime head in my early teens, and this song and album was probably all I was playing as well as other grime!
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name
This was a hard one to be fair! but this song is an anthem, it's instantly recognisable and a timeless classic.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
The Streets - Blinded by the Lights
Best song, when you've had a few drinks and your reflecting either on your actions or the actions of others or just laugh at the highlights to yourself, and you can walk about or look out an uber or bus window and feel like your in a music video! haha!
