Describe your style in three words?
Patterns, Collabs & FP's.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
The Stone Roses - I Wanna Be Adored - Remastered
I remember this as the first CD that I ever bought myself, despite already having been handed down several copies of the same CD. It was one of the initial reasons I fell in love with music and to this day remains in my mind as one of the most influential songs in British music.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
JAY-Z - Points of Authority / 99 Problems / One Step Closer
I was put onto this album by my Uncle and from the first note of the first song, I was hooked. Each song builds in intensity and the final song blew my mind. It was a perfect mashup of two of my favourite artists of the time mixing together.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Courteeners - Van Der Graaff
The Courteeners are a band that I loved from their first album. Despite Van Der Graaf releasing in 2013, I missed the album tour and this was a song that I had never been able to catch live. This all changed in 2017 when Liam played it at an acoustic gig at the Barrowlands.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Earth, Wind & Fire - September
One of the few songs that for me is impossible to listen to and not have an urge to get up and dance.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Weekend Debt - Il Padrino
This song is off Weekend Debt's 2019 EP 'Living Under the Influence', which I am thankful to have attended the launch gig for as this song immediately caught my attention. The song has catchy lyrics, oozes energy and when performed live the drum solos are mesmerising.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
Nirvana - Heart-Shaped Box
For this question, my answer was always going to be Nirvana but trying to whittle down which song proved more difficult than I originally thought. 'Heart-Shaped Box' grasped it for me due to how powerful the chorus hits you when played at full volume.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
Calvin Harris - Summer
This song reminds me of being 17 and unable to go to pubs, for the entire summer of 2014 this was a song that no matter where you went you would always be guaranteed to hear someone playing it on a Bluetooth speaker. Nostalgia.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Oasis - Live Forever - Remastered
To me, this is a song that truly will live forever.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Viola Beach - Call You Up
This is a song that I will frequently listen to at the end of an all-nighter, it has a chilling way of being able to bring my mates together and make you realise how much your friends mean to you.
