A Liam Photo
Describe your style in three words?
Frederick John Perry.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
Oasis - All Around the World
My Dad bought me a copy of 'Be Here Now' when it was released. I was 7 at the time and I remember playing this along with 'D'You Know What I Mean?' constantly.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
The Zombies - Hung Up On A Dream - Mono Version
'Odessey and Oracle' is one of the most complete albums, full of intricate melody and 'Hung Up On A Dream' is one of the best songs I have ever heard, it makes me drift away into a state of ecstasy every time I listen to it.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Neil Young - Harvest Moon
Desert Trip 2016, as Neil Young was singing this song the bright blazing red sun was setting behind himself and the golden mountain backdrop in the Coachella Valley and was replaced by the rising of the (Harvest) moon. "Pretty far out mannn!?" pseudo-American accent.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Happy Mondays - Step On - 2007 Remaster
The only song whereby I transform into a swaggering Mancunian from the early '90s, I’ll likely be doing a very bad job of it and inebriated but it always gets me going.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Paul Weller - Earth Beat
Growing up in my household Paul Weller was what Jesus is to your devout Catholic, Weller is constantly evolving as an artist and with every album he puts out he has no intentions of remaining stagnated or categorised which to me reflects a true artist.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
Sex Pistols - Pretty Vacant - Remastered
There's no point in asking, You'll get no reply.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
Nirvana - Lithium
I could have chosen a host of Nirvana songs but I've plumped for 'Lithium'. Nirvana was one of the first bands which I became obsessed with at the turning of my teenage years. There are not many rawer musicians than Kurt Cobain.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
The Beatles - Hey Jude - Remastered 2009
No words necessary.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
The Doors - The End
"This is the end, Beautiful friend, This is the end, My only friend, the end." It will either end the night perfectly or send you into a hole of some sort.
