Melotone, the Black Country (West Birmingham).
Describe your style in three words?
Daily identity crisis.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Kikagaku Moyo are phenomenal live – we’ve seen them at a few shows, and each was completely different to the last. Their final ever UK show is in June, which will probably take best slot!
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Novos Baianos for energy, Connan Mockasin for weirdness.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
The zest and rhythms of '60s Tropicália, and the musical detail of South London’s jazz scene.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Tommy Shelby, 'cause he most definitely was real.
Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
We played in the woods at Wedgnock Festival, which was very enchanting.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Jeff Buckley’s early passing is sad, leaving us with only one album to obsess over. His voice and guitar ability combined is an absolute pleasure to listen to.
