A Rachel Foxx Photo
Name, where are you from?
Rachel Foxx - I’m from East London, Hackney <3
Describe your style in three words?
Lazy, comfy and fun.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Probably Wizkid at the Royal Albert Hall... it was a special show with a massive band.
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Beyoncé. I mean Beyoncé is just... Beyoncé.
Erykah Badu. She's literally one of my favourite people, her and Jill Scott are basically queens in soul, they have inspired my sound a lot.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
I'm heavily influenced by rap culture, I love the energy behind the music, the beats... I'm mostly into the old school. I love sneaker culture too. I live in sneakers, if I could wear sneakers to my wedding I would... my fashion and my music really tie into one another, fashion inspires me so much.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Eazy E. I love him so much... his style, his attitude, his music.
Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
Jazz Cafe - because of the history and how legendary it is. I've wanted to play there for years and when I finally got to, it was such an amazing moment.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Usher. I think he's so incredibly underrated for what he does, I love him. I still remember the first day I saw the 'You Make Me Wanna' video when I was a kid and that actually made me want to be a musician. Another hero of mine is Aaliyah. She inspires me so much. And Toni Braxton, she made being a female with a deep voice cool...
