A RedFaces Photo
Name?
Harry Lyon
Where are you from?
Sheffield, England.
What do you do?
I sing and play rhythm guitar in RedFaces.
Describe your style in three words?
Cheap as Chips.
You can make a record with anyone from history - who would it be?
Anyone really, John Lennon or any of 'The Beatles' would be ace. I'd loved to have seen them write and record 'This Boy' or something like that.
What do you miss about home when you're on tour?
My dog Toby and my Mum's Sunday dinners.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been too?
At Y NOT Festival a couple years ago I saw Johnny Marr for the first time, "How Soon is Now" was class! That was when I realised how much I wanted to be as cool as that man.
What British music icons inspire your sound today?
Supergrass - Caught by the Fuzz
The Smiths - Queen is Dead
Gorillaz - Dirty Harry
You can spend an hour with anyone from history - who would it be?
I'd love to spend an hour with Winston Churchill, he just seems a bit of a dude.
RedFaces are an indie rock n roll quartet from Sheffield. They recently signed to RCA and their debut single 'Kerosene' will be released on 3rd February 2017.
They will be on tour across the UK throughout January and February 2017.
What was the first song you played on repeat?
'Love is the Law' by The Seahorses.
I remember being a little kid and asking my dad for that song over and over again.
One record you would keep forever?
'The Stone Roses' that first self-titled album is for me one of my favourite albums of all time.
Chosen track 'I Am The Resurrection'.
Song you wish you had written?
'Lust For Life' by Iggy Pop.
Song that defines the teenage you?
'Alright' by Supergrass.
A song lyric that inspires you?
"The only one who's really judging you, is yourself. Nobody else."
'Alter Ego' by Tame Impala.
4 songs by new bands you can’t stop listening to right now?
'Always Love' by Old Man Canyon
Just a pretty cool sounding record, the whole album 'Deliruim' is class.
'New Person, Same Old Mistakes' by Tame Impala
It's just about growing up and moving on and we as a band could relate to that massively.
'Nothing's Ever That Simple' by Fronteers.
Best song to start the day, lyrics are class too!
'No Reptiles' by Everything Everything
It's the sort of song that you sit there in silence for a few minutes after just to try and appreciate it and then you can't help but play it again.
