Work at Fred Perry Camden — England
A Ross Photo
Describe your style in three words?
Charity Shop Finds.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
Bob Marley & The Wailers - Buffalo Soldier
When I was a kid, like most family computers in the early/mid 2000s, we had a very questionable program that allowed us to download mp3s for free and this was one of those mp3s, I vividly remember playing this tune over and over off of that computer.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
Dean Blunt - LUSH
The opening track to my favourite album, still get the same feeling as when i first listened to it, never heard anything like it. I was first shown Dean Blunt just after this album came out and I became borderline obsessed with his work and still am really.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Mobb Deep - Give Up the Goods (Just Step) (feat. Big Noyd)
Saw Mobb Deep play Tramlines in Sheffield, Wu Tang were meant to be headlining but canceled last minute and were replaced by De La Soul and Mobb Deep which more than made up for it. Along with all this, Prodigy didn't make it so Havoc did the show by himself, he smashed it.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Oxide & Neutrino - Bound 4 da Reload - Casualty
Samples Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and the Casualty theme song, real classic.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Loke Rahbek - The Heart of Things
Was looking forward to this album for a long time as I was a big fan of the last collaborative album by Loke Rahbek and Frederik Valentin and this did not disappoint.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
The Pogues - Sally MacLennane
Put it on before you go out, a little sing along to boost team morale.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
Jamie T - Sticks 'N' Stones
When I was about 13 some older boys came to the skatepark, they were a lot cooler than us and a lot better than us, they were playing this song out of their bluetooth speaker. Reminds me of summer holidays off school, getting on the tube early and roaming about London all day.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Blitz - New Age
Very much an Oi! song with its chanted chorus and lyrical themes but with an '80s Post Punk twist, good stuff.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
The Walker Brothers - Make It Easy On Yourself
Gotta keep it light and positive going into the early morning.
