A Stormy Photo
Describe your style in three words?
Vintage, roadman-goth, spice girl.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit
I remember being in year 6 and recording this track from the TV on to my Sony Ericsson. The recording quality must have been so rubbish but I was too encapsulated by the bouncy heart-thumping repetitiveness of the song to care!
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
Busta Rhymes Tribute Band - Woo Haa!! Got You All In Check
This is song is from Busta Rhymes debut album "The Coming". The song is so nostalgic and just oozes Hip Hop culture. It was so ahead of it's time. I love the fact that Busta Rhymes was never afraid to be weird and a bit off-key.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Chase & Status - Program
I was at Neverworld festival in Kent. My first time playing at a festival, later that evening me and my mates went to see BBC Radio legend David Rodigan for his headline set. When he played Program the whole crowd went absolutely nuts.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
M-22 - White Lies
This song has such a classic feel good vibe. It reminds me of being on holiday with my girls dancing at a beach club without a care in the world. It samples the 1989 dance hit "Good Life" by Inner City.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
OFFAIAH - Soldier
I love the pace of this song. It's great to dance to and workout to. This song also gives me day-rave/daytime festival vibes. OFFAIAH consistently makes wholesome club-focused house music.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
Duke Dumont - Won't Look Back
I listen to this song when I need a boost of energy and it's a go-to song for the majority of my radio shows and DJ sets. I love the way the soulful heartfelt vocals just belt out! This song makes me feel alive.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
Dizzee Rascal - Fix Up, Look Sharp
14 year old me thought I was the coolest person in Essex reciting the lyrics to this tune bar for bar. This song made me feel sure of myself. It made me feel certain about everything.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Armand Van Helden - U Don't Know Me (feat. Duane Harden)
This anthem is most definitely one of the best dance tracks in the whole entire world. It's so powerful because it never fails to uplift my whole soul no matter how many times I hear it. It reminds me how magical the dance-floor is.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Bicep - Glue
This song makes me want to fall in love with the person I've been dancing all night with. There's something emotional and euphoric about it. There's something quite sad and mysterious about it too. It feels like the early hours of the morning.
