A The Green Brothers Photo
Name, where are you from?
Albert, George & Chaz from Essex.
Describe your style in three words?
A: Not too shabby.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
G: alt-J Royal Albert Hall: I was given a front-row ticket for nothing on Twitter. Collecting the ticket I wasn’t sure whether I was about to be stolen or surprised. Luckily was the latter.
A: The Specials at Cambridge Corn Exchange; opening with 'Ghost Town' revealing the band as the smoke cleared the stage - they know how to start a gig.
C: Biffy Clyro at Shepherds Bush Empire. They played loads of rarities and deep cuts.
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
G: The Clash & The Libertines. What an after-party that would be.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
A: Punk, in the same way, it has affected so many aspects of culture/society; by encouraging people to step outside the box and do some of your own thinking.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
A: Elvis Presley. He was the first of his kind and I'd imagine he’d have some nuts stories.
Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
G: 100 Club - It's like stepping back in time walking down into that venue, what a place.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
C: Mike Dirnt - Bass player of Green Day. It’s easy to follow root notes playing bass but he often plays cool melodies over the simpler guitar parts.
The first track you played on repeat?
A: 'Crying Lightning' by Arctic Monkeys.
C: 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by Nirvana.
G: 'Suspicious Minds' by Elvis Presley.
A song that defines the teenage you?
A: 'Don’t Look Back Into The Sun' by The Libertines.
C: 'Menswear' by The 1975.
G: 'From The Ritz To The Rumble' by Arctic Monkeys.
One record you would keep forever?
A: 'The Bends' by Radiohead.
C: 'The Vertigo Bliss' by Biffy Clyro.
G: 'Up The Bracket' by The Libertines.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
A: “The smell of piss is so strong it smells like decent bacon”
From 'Tied Up In Nottz' by Sleaford Mods.
C: “So leave the light on, I’m coming home, it's getting dark out but I’ll carry on”
From 'Doomed' by Bring Me The Horizon.
G: “What came first the chicken or the dickhead”
From 'Pretty Visitors' by Arctic Monkeys.
The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
A: 'Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe' by Barry White.
C: 'Reptilia' by The Strokes.
G: 'Young Hearts Run Free' by Candi Station.
A song you wished you had written?
A: 'Albion' by Babyshambles.
C: 'Fake Plastic Trees' by Radiohead.
G: 'That’s Entertainment' by The Jam.
Best song to turn up loud?
A: 'Come As You Are' by Nirvana.
C: 'Sleepwalking' by Bring Me The Horizon.
G: 'Come On Eileen' by Dexys Midnight Runners.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
A: 'Spooky' by Dusty Springfield.
C: 'Plain Jane' by A$AP Ferg.
G: 'Tiny Dancer' by Elton John.
Best song to end an all-nighter on?
A: 'New York, New York' by Frank Sinatra.
C: 'Tonight, Tonight' by Smashing Pumpkins.
G: 'Perfect Day' by Lou Reed.
Any new music you are listening to right now?
G: The New Working Men's Club album is unreal. Been a big fan of Sorry’s debut album '925'. Liily and Amyl and the Sniffers are quality too.
