Name, where are you from?
Aimee Interrupter, from Los Angeles, CA
Describe your style in three words?
Splash of red.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
When Jimmy Cliff and Tim Armstrong were rehearsing for Coachella, they invited friends and family down to the rehearsal room on the last day and did a private concert. Kevin and Jesse from my band were playing guitar and percussion with them. The band sounded great. Such a magical evening I will never forget!
If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Bad Brains and Operation Ivy. Both of those bands helped shape who I am musically, and I never had the opportunity to see either of them live.
Which Subcultures have influenced you?
2-Tone and punk rock. I love the women of 2-Tone like Rhoda Dakar and Pauline Black. They are such strong women, amazing performers with so much to say and such great style! I also love early American female punk singers like Debbie Harry, Joan Jett, Patti Smith and Exene Cervenka. The list goes on.
Your greatest hero or heroine in music?
Leonard Cohen. I may never write a song as well-crafted as any of his masterpieces, but I’ve always aspired to paint pictures with my words because of him.
Acclaimed Los Angeles ska-punk band The Interrupters will release their third studio album Fight the Good Fight on June 29th via Hellcat Records. The band will also be touring in the UK this December. Find out more at www.wearetheinterrupters.com

oh Lord please don’t let me be misunderstood”

A song you wished you had written?
'The Guns of Brixton' - The Clash
