Sharp, suave, snazzy.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Alex: Parquet Courts - End Of The Road 2017 I pointed out Mac Demarco on the side stage and someone complained saying I wasn’t a real fan but other than that it was a fantastic performance from Mac Demarco.

Charlie: Radiohead - Glastonbury 2017 Radiohead have been my favourite band for years and this was the first time I had seen them live. The set was perfect and being able to enjoy it with some of your best mates at Glasto made it extra special. Really knocked my socks off.

Josh: Father John Misty - Plug, Sheffield 2016 I got tickets for this show on twitter relatively last minute and it was the first time that I'd ever been to a gig by myself. I was fairly new to FJM and didn't know what to expect from his live set; watching it was one of the first times I remember enjoying a live show purely for the musical aspect rather than the social, and wanting to pursue something in music further than my bedroom.

Max: Arcade Fire - Isle of Wight 2017 It was the weekend after Labour made huge gains in the 2017 election, I was absolutely battered, surrounded by some of the best people in my life, and the sun was just setting after nearly burning my face off earlier in the day. I’ll never forget it.

Will: Stone Roses - Carlisle Sand Centre 2016
Stone Roses announced a warm-up gig in my closest city, Carlisle, which was daft because nobody ever comes to Carlisle. It was incredible to see them play in front of a crowd of less than 1000 people at Sands Centre, and then see them play to a packed Etihad Stadium the week after. I remember I had a maths exam the next day and my maths teacher caught me at the gig. He wasn’t even pissed off, I think he knew how special the gig was going to be. My love for The Stone Roses has somewhat faded, but that gig still sticks with me.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history - who would they be?
We’re all fans of Cave and being able to play on a bill with him would be a dream come true. A few of us have seen him live before too and his presence on stage is really something to behold. The only problem about playing with The Bad Seeds is that they’d most definitely show us up.

Joy Division are another huge inspiration for us and would've loved to have witnessed them performing let alone alongside them. Obviously, with the legacy they have left behind in Manchester too, it seems like a no brainer for us.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
The CBGBs scene in New York.
The '70s UK Punk Scene.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history - who would it be?
We chose Bowie because he's obviously a genius and he seemed like a lovely guy. Would be nice to pick his brains over a meal and hear a few stories.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
The Deaf Institute in Manchester’s a beautiful venue and we’ve been lucky enough to play it a couple of times now. We also love Wharf Chambers in Leeds, cheap drinks and good times guaranteed.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Rowland S Howard was an incredibly influential guitarist and lyricist who we feel doesn’t get as much attention as he deserves. His solo material and work with The Birthday Party is a big influence for us as a band.
