Name, where are you from?
I’m Molly Burman and I’m from North London!
Describe your style in three words?
Always colour coordinated.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Katy J Pearson at Green Man. I didn’t know who she was but got recommended to go and see her. All of her fans were dressed in cow print and cowboy hats and I was coincidentally wearing one too. The crowd were so lovely and all of her songs were so good that I picked them up and was singing along by the end. I felt pure happiness while watching her and have been a fan ever since.
If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Fleetwood Mac, because they’re just amazing, and would bring the coolest audience, all of their songs, are bangers, so it would be great! And David Bowie because I love all his songs and it would be an absolute honour.
Which Subcultures have influenced you?
Hippie subculture, I’m obsessed with '70s fashion; flares, crotchet, scarves, just everything really. Also Queer subculture, really influences some of my videos and just me as a person!
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Mark Ashton, he was a British gay rights activist and co-founded Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners. The film Pride is all about him and the story of the group and it’s one of my all-time favourites. It would just be incredible to meet someone who was so important to so many people and did so much work for all different groups.
Of all the venues you’ve been to, which is your favourite?
La Machine du Moulin Rouge, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to play it in Paris. When I walked into the venue my jaw dropped and I was just so shocked that I was going to be playing there. Everyone made me feel so welcomed and I felt absolutely elated when I played it.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Kamille, she’s written so many of the top songs today and her songs are so iconic!

The first track you played on repeat?
'Ring of Fire' by Johnny Cash. I was about seven when I first heard it. We had it on CD and I remember always playing it and skipping around in a circle in my front room. It would also get played in long car journeys, and is just a song that I will always love.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'All The Pretty Girls' by KALEO. It's a song that got me through loads of dark times, listening to it always makes me feel safe and at peace. I've never stopped listening to it since I first heard it, it's my comfort song. I probably spent most of my teenage years listening to it, it was a difficult time!
One record you would keep forever?
'Magic Dance' by David Bowie. This song is from the movie 'Labyrinth', which is up there with my faves. It's such a tune and I’ve loved it since I was a little kid. Every time I sing along to it, I get really into the character of the Goblin King, and it brings back loads of childhood memories.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
“Lady luck is fickle but a lady is allowed to change her mind”
It's in a song called 'Down And Out' from the 'Bugsy Malone' soundtrack, which is my favourite soundtrack ever. It always makes me laugh, but also I think it has a really nice meaning. To me it’s about not expecting things from people, and just seeing how things play out. Also, I love a bit of personification!
A song you wished you had written?
'Sunrise' by Norah Jones, in my opinion, it’s one of the most beautiful songs ever written. It has such a pretty melody and instantly makes me feel warm and safe. If I wrote this song, I would be proud for the rest of my life.
Best song to turn up loud?
'Axel F' by Crazy Frog. Everyone loves this song and if they say they don’t, they’re lying. I can’t listen to it without feeling happy, it just makes me feel good. Someone played it at a party I was at once, and it was honestly the best decision ever, everyone was dancing and no one was taking themselves seriously.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to Like?
'Can We Dance' by The Vamps. I used to be OBSESSED with them when I was younger, as in I literally had a fan account for them. As embarrassing as my fan-girl era was, I can’t deny that their songs were bangers!!! I’ll never not love this song.
The song to get you straight on the dance floor?
'Shame, Shame, Shame' by Shirley & Company. As soon as I hear the guitars in this song I can't stop dancing. It's such a funky happy song and instantly makes me move. Also, you can’t listen to it without dancing or massive shame on you!
Best song to end an all-nighter?
'Spooky' by Dusty Springfield. It’s very danceable but also laid back enough to end the night. I find it such an enchanting song, and it always gets me moving when I hear it.
Any new bands you are into at the moment?
I’ve been listening to Khruangbin’s new album Texas Moon, and it’s really cool. I’ve also been loving Fontaines D.C.!
