Name, where are you from?
Joe: I’m from Hackney, London.
Georgie: I’m from Norwich but moved to London a while back.
Describe your style in three words?
G: Hard to know.
J: Eager to please.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
G: Maybe seeing Umfang in Croatia, so killa. I dragged my friends there and it was hard to know if I was really overwhelmed and on the brink of an anxiety attack or having the time of my life. Probs both at the same time.
J: I’m not ashamed to say Muse at Earl’s Court.
If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
G: Hmm Vengaboys and Kanye West, not a band but you know.
Which Subcultures have influenced you?
G: Eurotrance, the glistening, melodic synth lines bringing all the mood to the song. To achieve that level of euphoria from a single synth line is always the aim.
J: My introduction to dance music was turning the lights out in my parents’ house and listening to dubstep. Fabric live 37 Caspa and Rusko. We progressed into the emo trashy Nero stuff and then found house music just before Skrillex came along. Craving dubstep nights again these days, I want to feel the floor shake.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
G: Aphex Twin cos there’s so much to find out (not that he’d tell me anything).
J: My grandpa. He died before I was born but my musical genes come from him.
Of all the venues you’ve been to, which is your favourite?
Plastic People. The closing down party was the best club night of our lives.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
G: Lady Wray - her melodies are so perfect, they take unexpected turns, I love it.
J: Cher - she doesn’t get enough credit for inventing the modern vocal with one of the best pop songs of all time.
The first track you played on repeat?
'My Happy Ending' by Avril Lavigne.
A song that defines the teenage you?
G: 'BTSU' by Jai Paul, always so proud to put this on at house parties.
J: 'Like Eating Glass' by Bloc Party, the song that convinced me to stop pretending I didn’t like indie.
One record you would keep forever?
G: 'The College Dropout' by Kanye West.
J: I apologise, but 'Everything In Its Right Place' by Radiohead. The first time an electronic song blew my mind.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
G: "Listen carefully to the sound of a loneliness like a heartbeat drives you mad, in the stillness of remembering of what you had"
From 'Dreams' by Fleetwood Mac.
A song you wished you had written?
G: 'Good Days' by SZA.
J: 'Thinking Of A Place' by The War On Drugs.
Best song to turn up loud?
G: 'F UR EX' by Sway, Stush.
J: 'XLB' by Pearson Sound.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
G: 'Cockney Thug' by Rusko.
J: 'I Was Born To Make You Happy' by Britney Spears.
The song to get you straight on the dance floor?
G: 'Alejandro' by Lady Gaga.
J: 'Imagine - Asylum Remix' by Shola Ama.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
J: 'As' by Stevie Wonder.
Any new bands you are into at the moment?
'Moanin’' by Jana Rush.
'Let Me Out' by System Olympia.
'I’m A Girl You Can Hold IRL' by ML Buch.
'Como Un G' by Rosalia.
