03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Classic, eclectic, Winehouse.

The first track you played on repeat?

Dusty Springfield - Spooky

I listen to this song every day on the way to work, I first heard it in a movie when I was about ten and so my mum bought me the 'Best of' album. It sounds different every time, I think it's perfect.

A song from your favorite album?

Amy Winehouse - Cupid - Deluxe Edition Version

This song is an amazing version, I Love how Amy married so many genres in her music and managed to make covers as good (if not better) than the originals.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Sleaford Mods - B.H.S.

This song is one of my favourite Sleaford songs and they played it at their gig at the Croxton Band Room in 2020, it was a really special one as Melbourne went into lockdown about a week later and I had been waiting years to see them live.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

The Streets - Fit but You Know It

Another song that gets a daily listen, it puts me in a great mood and is the best to sing along to (Danny Dyer being a highlight).

A new song you're listening to?

Viagra Boys - Toad

I first heard these lads on a song they did with Amyl and The Sniffers so I bought the record and have been listening to them constantly ever since. They're quite weird and I love it.

Best song to turn up loud?

Oasis - Cigarettes & Alcohol - Remastered

This is a classic you will never tire of, I always play it on a Sunday morning when I need to shake off the night before and need motivation to leave the house.

A song that defines the teenage you?

Joy Division - Atmosphere

This is my favourite Joy Division song to this day, I think I first heard it when I watched '24 Hour Party People' for the first time when I was a teen.

An anthemic song?

Arctic Monkeys - Brianstorm

Most Arctic Monkey's songs are pretty epic, but this is particularly so, the guitar's on this sound great and it is one of their best to see live.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Massive Attack - Safe From Harm - 2012 Mix/Master

Massive Attack are the ultimate wind-down band. This is a banger without being too heavy, you can sing along to it but also zone out at the same time.
