Describe your style in three words?
Intimate Personal Sustainable
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
DEVO - Whip It
A childhood favourite, naked me, with my invisible whip charging ‘round the playground.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
Gong - The Pot Head Pixies - 2015 Remaster
Pot Head Pixie! Something I related to and felt as a teen... Gong are one of my favourite bands, the first record I was given by my sister was Flying Teapot and enjoyed many a psychedelic journey with and from them!
A song from your most memorable gig?
Yak - Hungry Heart
Yak at Southampton Joiners a few years ago blew the lid off my head and the ceiling off the venue!
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
James Brown - The Payback
Self-explanatory. Infectious.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Tinariwen - Sastanàqqàm
They were raised in the northern Saharan dessert along with conflict from human and heat... an original punk attitude fusing western rock and traditional Arabic roots.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird
My mate lived on a boathouse called Free Bird and we used to have proper parties and end the night with this hand in hand running wild... was a hard choice between this and Born to Be Wild Steppenwolf
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
Cymande - Dove
No tune defines me but the vibrations from this song activate some soul in me I guess, so much you can go with it!
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Fleetwood Mac - The Chain - 2004 Remaster
I was at Isle of Wight festival when Stevie Nicks appeared and set my heart alight... I have never found true love since that day.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Massive Attack - Teardrop
Depending if I’m winding down or wired up... I’d have this song to regulate my heartbeat and put my mind at an equilibrium.
