Describe your style in three words?
Salted caramel popcorn.
The first track you played on repeat?
Natalie Cole - L-O-V-E
My mom played Natalie Cole's version of 'L-O-V-E' to me as a child. Whenever we were alone she would turn it up as loud as possible while playing it on repeat she would dance with me as if we were in a black and white '40s romantic film.
A song from your favorite album?
Amy Winehouse - Moody's Mood For Love / Teo Licks
I listen to 'Moody's Mood for Love' with Amy Winehouse anytime and anywhere. Her interpretation of this amazing tune hits me in new ways every time I hear it. There is an ease yet a complexity over her vocal presentation which I keep on finding interesting and inspiring.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Celeste - Strange - Edit
Celeste just stood there on stage all humble and beautiful making a venue full of people go quiet when singing 'Strange'. You could have heard a pin drop to the floor. The intensity of this song is just overwhelming.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Anderson .Paak - Come Down
As soon as I hear the bass in 'Come Down' by Anderson .Paak I'm up and dancing. The beat just makes my body move automatically.
A new song you're listening to?
The Eddy - Kiss Me In The Morning (feat. Jorja Smith)
'Kiss Me In The Morning' feat. Jorja Smith. Her voice is just as smooth as butter in this song and I keep on looping her scatting part.
Best song to turn up loud?
Snarky Puppy - Amour T'es La
'Amour T'es La' is turned up extra loud when cooking while salsa dancing with myself.
A song that defines the teenage you?
Tina Dico - Cruel to the Sensitive Kind
I felt very connected to 'Cruel To The Sensitive Kind' as a teenager and was sure the song was written about my feelings. It was played on repeat in my neon green teenage room to amplify the melancholic and - no one understands how I feel - period I was in.
An anthemic song?
Nina Simone - Little Liza Jane - Live at Newport Jazz Festival; 2004 Remaster
The sound of 'Little Liza Jane' by Nina Simone is me walking around confused after just moving to London.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Leon Bridges - River
Nothing better than to end an all-nighter with a slow dance and 'River' by Leon Bridges makes me want to dance cheek to cheek.
