Describe your style in three words?
Punk Rock Warlord.
The first track you played on repeat?
Sugar - If I Can't Change Your Mind
My dad introduced me to this tune when I was super young, around 6/7 maybe? I just loved the guitar and the overall feel of it. Bizarrely It reminds me of swimming lessons at my infant school...
A song from your favorite album?
The Libertines - Boys in the Band
In my late teens just as I was starting to get serious with my band, all this great music was suddenly coming out of London. This song in particular reminds me of playing rowdy shows in pubs, clubs and bars around the badlands of Essex.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
I've seen Bruce Springsteen live 43 times. Seeing him play in New Jersey at Giant Stadium in 2003 was one of the most incredible gigs ever. Hearing 80,000 people all singing this song at once isn't something you ever forget...
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
The Contours - Do You Love Me
Motown as a record label is just incredible, Some of the best songwriting and musicianship that was ever put down on tape. Not only were they creating some of the most beautifully heartbreaking songs but they were also putting out some of the best dance and party anthems ever...
A new song you're listening to?
Lacuna Common - English Weather
I first heard their track 'Lack of Knowledge' and absolutely loved it. I have a show on Boogaloo Radio every Friday so invited them to come on. They were really cool guys and their lead singer Alfie is a great songwriter.
Best song to turn up loud?
The Smiths - This Charming Man - 2011 Remaster
Turn the stereo all the way up and listen in wonder at Johnny Marr's guitar wizardry...
A song that defines the teenage you?
Rancid - Roots Radical
My early teens were all about punk rock. The Clash, Green Day, Blink 182. After hearing '...And Out Come The Wolves' it changed me, I adored this record.
An anthemic song?
The Stone Roses - I Am the Resurrection
This and 'I Wanna be Adored’ are absolute indie anthems. I love them both but this song just has it all, the intro drums that sound like a call to arms, the great verses, that euphoric chorus and then just when you think it's all over, the band starts grooving.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska
The whole of this album is the perfect late-night lights out listening...
