Describe your style in three words?
Baggy T-shirts Galore.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Burt Bacharach in the Iveagh Gardens. He is one of the world's greatest songwriters, It was a beautiful clear July night and my father cried.

If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Ian Dury and The Blockheads - their live gigs were insane and I would love to travel back to the late 1970s and hang with all the punks. And Bjork because she is the OG and nothing more needs to be said.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
The late 1970s punk subculture with bands like The Slits and The Fall, that subculture changed the way that I looked at my own identity and realised that anything was possible... equally, the resurgence of rock in New York with bands like The Strokes and The Walkmen influenced a lot of my melody writing as I was growing up.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
David Bowie - He's the one who got me into this mess and I'm sure an hour with him would be enough to get me out of it.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
The Knockdown Centre, Queens. A warehouse in the middle of nowhere that is reminiscent of a Berlin Nightclub except James Murphy is Djing. The Workmans Club Dublin. The heart of the music scene in Dublin, the smoking area is where people both find and lose themselves and then write all about it.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
The post-punk band the Drones are an unbelievable Australian band that don't get enough credit. 'Private Execution' is a lyrical masterpiece. Lisa Germano is also an amazing '90s female folk/grunge writer who I think should be up there with the appreciation of PJ Harvey.
