03Interview

Name, where are you from?
We’re The Hunna. A four-piece Alternative Rock band from Watford, Hertfordshire United Kingdom.

Describe your style in three words?
Right now we would say we’re really into that dark, street, modern gothic look. The emo rebirth. Silver rings, silver chains, custom rips, patches and much more. Mainly influenced by Korean Street fashion and American trap fashion.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
The best gig we’ve ever been to together was probably Kings of Leon at Summer Sessions Festival. We were lucky enough to support them that day which is a massive achievement for us as we are huge fans. The performance was tight and the atmosphere from the crowd on point.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Foo Fighters, Nirvana and us as the opener. Would be an insane show. Could even have them play against each other like that scene from Scott Pilgrim. Younger Grohl vs older Grohl. Dope stuff.

Which subcultures influenced you?
Rock, Punk, Emo and Hippie.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Jimi Hendrix. Legend. Serious dream to smoke one up and jam on our guitars together. That would be the one.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
It would have to be the mighty Brixton Academy, London UK. We have so many amazing memories there. We sold out and played two in January 2018 and will be returning again this April 2019.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
David Bowie.

Following on from their successful debut album ‘100’ and impressive 2018 follow up ‘Dare’ The Hunna are about to embark on an extensive UK and European tour this April. With new music to come later in 2019.

04Playlist Notes

'Dirty Diana' by Michael Jackson.

'Back To School' by Deftones.

One record you would keep forever?
'I Forget Where We Were' by Ben Howard.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
"Pray the real live forever, man. Pray the fakes get exposed"
'Know Yourself' by Drake.

The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Starboy' by The Weeknd.

Best song to turn up loud?
'Feel The Love' by Kids See Ghosts.
