Describe your style in three words?
Fuzzy Odd Pop.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Rob: Brian Wilson on the first Smile tour at Colston Hall in 2003.
Mike: Richard Dawson at Home Gathering Festival.
John: Radiohead at Lollapalooza.
If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Television because they basically invented post-punk at the beginning of punk!
White Denim because they’re filthy groove masters!
Which subcultures have influenced you?
The Slacker Rock and Alt-Country movements of the '90s really stuck with us. The mix of lo-fi noises, weird arrangements, great melodies and scuzzy sounds made us realise how much more interesting indie music could be when you removed all the unnecessary laddy posturing and faux swagger.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
We’d quite like to have a chat with The Man from Del Monte. We want to know if he only eats tinned fruit.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Mix engineers, because no one knows who they are and they basically define the sound and presentation of the thing you end up loving. Phillippe Zdar (Phoenix) and Nigel Godrich (Beck and Radiohead) make things sound like no one else can!
Tongg are a three-piece alt-rock band from Nottingham, England. The band consists of Mike Hutchinson (Bass Guitar), John Schofield (Drums & Percussion), Robert Harris (Vocals, Guitars, Keys and Production). Their new EP 'Karate In The Dark' is out now, listen below.

A song you wished you had written?
R: Happy Birthday (obviously) :-).
