Describe your style in three words?
Whatever I like.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Fat White Family, Manchester. They reminded me of sailors from some doomed South Pole expedition in the 1800s.

If you could be on the line up with any two music in history?
Captain Beefheart & Frank Ocean. They would both do a duet at the end and also there would be a free bar. They’re both heroes and it’s got John Lennon/Yoko energy.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
I always love the style of the mods, great music and great clothes which are always timeless. But I always like more when people just do whatever they truthfully like.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
That’s too much pressure, maybe Genghis Khan so I could tell him that he’s been cancelled in person.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
Nothing beats the absolute crushing feeling of playing covers in restaurants while people eat, I remember singing “Maybe I will never be / All the things that I want to be” from 'Live Forever' to the most uninterested restaurant in the world, sending back cold mussels. There’s something special about that. But Bitterzoet in Amsterdam was class, it was all done out like some sort of gothic church/euro nightclub, which is what you’re after really.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Billy Joe Shaver is an amazing songwriter, he wrote so many timeless country songs when country was actually great in the ’70s. There are a million unsung heroes in music though, like everything else.
