A Autumn Photo
Describe your style in three words?
Mod. Rocker. Mocker.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
Florence + The Machine - Dog Days Are Over
Florence was one of the first musicians I really gravitated towards when I was really young, her music is brilliantly collaged together and somehow this masterpiece has depth but is a complete bop and will make you want to dance. 13 year old me couldn't get enough.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
Arctic Monkeys - Dance Little Liar
I honestly think this album (and song) is the greatest to ever come out of our generation. I haven't found single album so intricately constructed to come out since Humbug, and I doubt one will. Plus Turner's lyrics are just like nothing else on this earth, it can't be disputed.
A song from your most memorable gig?
The Last Shadow Puppets - Used To Be My Girl
I saw TLSP in Cleveland in 2016 and lets just say I've never seen on-stage chemistry quite like that.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
OutKast - Hey Ya!
The great thing about this song is that no matter how crap the rest of the DJ's set it, they'll always be down to play this one and it'll resurrect the whole night.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Sports Team - M5
As an American I haven't yet had the experience of cruising on the M5, but if it's as exhilarating as this song makes it sound, then I'm definitely missing out.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
Jamie T - Sticks 'N' Stones
There's something about screaming every word to this song at the top of your lungs that brings so much joy.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
The Vaccines - Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra)
I may or may not have only started listening to The Vaccines because my 10th grade crush was into them, but it helped segue me into so much great indie/alternative/underground music that came out around that time. Totally changed my perception of what music could be.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Echo & the Bunnymen - The Killing Moon
While any Echo & The Bunnymen song might not be an anthem to jam out to on the dance floor, there's something about this tune that is mega. It can hit you in just the right spot at the right time. I get chills every time it comes on.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
The B-52's - Love Shack
A song that should only be played in the wee-hours of the morning, but it'll still get you going every time. A true bop. Then you crash and go to bed.
