Describe your style in three words?
Trying to be me
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
Madness - One Step Beyond
I heard this tune as a child in recently westernised Hungary in the late '80s. It was very different than anything else before. I was attracted to subcultures from an early age since it was helping me to define who I am. I wanted to be different so I've found counter culture.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
The Cult - Wild Flower
From what period? I was hanging with punk rockers then the grunge movement had a huge influence on me. Later I got introduced to hip hop culture, acid jazz / neo soul, drum 'n' bass and jungle. I chose 'Electric' by The Cult because this is the essence of rock 'n' roll to me.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Beastie Boys - Sure Shot
The B. Boys came to Hungary in '95 and I was there as a teenager. It was so relevant since not that many acts came. I started to direct documentaries about subcultures in Budapest and the story of this gig has a special mention since everyone from the scene remembers this.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Mac Miller - Dang! (feat. Anderson .Paak)
I could have mentioned so many other songs but now that I partly live in Los Angeles I get to know all these wonderful artists from here. Anderson Paak is my favourite nowadays.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Viagra Boys - Sports
I was hesitating between Liam Gallagher's latest album and/or Frank Carter and the Viagra Boys. I just saw the Swedish Viagra Boys in Silver Lake recently and they were very charismatic. A little bit of jazz mixed with post-punk and it's on my playlist nowadays.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
Kyuss - Green Machine
I listen to loud music. It's hard to choose only one.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
Chris Cornell - Seasons
I have to admit that I was a pretty melancholic teenager :) I was also very angry so 'You Can't Bring Me Down' by Suicidal Tendencies could be a good choice too and another 100 songs incl. 'Would?' by Alice in Chains, 'Alive' by Pearl Jam.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Morrissey - Spent the Day in Bed
Again in what period? :) I could also say 'Brother Sister' by the Brand New Heavies 'Say Hello to Heaven' by Temple of the Dog !!!
Best song to end an all-nighter?
The Last Shadow Puppets - Bad Habits
It's such a decadent song I love it! Or any D' Angelo track could work for different occasions.. OR 'Feel Good Hit of the Summer' by QTSA....
