Name, where are you from?
Dirty Freud from London, but living my best life in Yorkshire.
What do you do?
I’m an electronic artist and a music producer.
Describe your style in three words?
Dirty Electronic naughtiness.
A British icon or band who inspire your sound?
I’d have to say 'Out Of Space' by The Prodigy. It blew my mind all these incredible electronic sounds wrapped in a dubby vocal.
What has been your all-time favourite gig?
'Charlie Big Potato' by Skunk Anansie. The energy was incredible and Skin is a fantastic leader of the band on stage. All of them smash it on stage and look like they love doing it. I’ve never ever watched this band and thought they’re just going through the motions. They leave it all on the stage. Which makes me wanna do the same.

What was the first song you played on repeat?
'Ghost Town' by The Specials. Such a great song and it sounds so unusual the combination of cultures and sounds.
Which music defines the teenage you?
My teenage years were kinda turbulent I had a fair few friendship groups so these three tracks would probably sum it up. 'Booo!' by Sticky ft. Ms Dynamite, 'Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You' by Jay-Z/Linkin Park was a mad combination of styles and made me realised music is music genreless. Finally was massively influenced by what Bloc Party. It was indie, but dance as well. 'Banquet' was such a tune.
A song from your favourite album?
I was obsessed with The Fugees and begged my parents to let me watch them. Finally got to watch them and the way they were on stage changed my life. Even more when my favourite album 'The Score' came out. For me, 'Ready Or Not' was a game-changer.
A song you wish you’d written?
'Teardrop' by Massive Attack. This is such a beautiful song, the lyrics and instrumentals are ridiculous.
What is the last piece of music you bought?
'Hoodies All Summer' by Kano. Love Kano as I relate to a lot he talks about, he talks about East London, I’m from North London and love how he doesn’t sugar-coat it.
Best song to bring people together?
'You Can Get It If You Really Want' by Jimmy Cliff. My Dad used to boom this out on the estate I grew up on and it was proper loud, but you could always catch people bopping when they heard it. And when he dropped it at family parties it was a pleaser for sure.
The best love song of all time?
'Nite Nite' by Kano, for me, this is my best love song as it is where I’m at. I like to keep it 100 so when Kano brought this out, this is what I’d always think about when I was in the zone.
Is there a song you like that people wouldn’t expect?
Yeah, I’m massively into storytellers so people like George Jones and Tracy Chapman have taught me, to be unapologetic in the way I write. So these two tracks are 'Choices' & 'Remember The Tinman'.
What new music are you listening to?

'Normal' by FullMarx.
'Ramona Flowers' by The Blinders.
'Under The Static' by Hannah Ashcroft.
