San Francisco born and LA based rapper and poet George Watsky released his 4th full length studio album 'X Infinity' on August 19th, the album follows hot on the heels of his first essay collection 'How To Ruin Everything' which debuted in the new York Times best-seller list earlier this year.

I’m George Watsky, and I’m from San Francisco, CA.
What do you do?
I write things and perform them. Until now mostly music and poetry, but I put out my first essay collection this year.
Describe your style in three words?
Funny, unfunny, gymnastical
How should your music be listened to?
In headphones at full volume while eating something unhealthy
What do you miss about home when you're on tour?
Clean socks
What British music icons inspire your sound today?
The Beatles. My friend Kate Nash. The Streets. Gorillaz. Dizzee Rascal. Amy Winehouse, Scroobius Pip

Sunday Candy - Chance the Rapper
This is sound porn for me. Amazing, honest lyrics with word-nerd internal rhymes packed in, incredibly satisfying, rich gospel music bed with a catchy chord progression, and it manages to not sound like a ripoff of anyone else. It’s everything I love about rap in one song.
The Bird - Anderson .Paak
If this was an Al Green song, it would be my favorite Al Green song. That’s how much I love it.
Coffee - Sylvan Esso
This whole album’s sound palette is so rad, consistent, and well-mixed. I’m a sucker for a great synth patch and banging drums. A hint of tUnE-yArDs in the very creative vocals.
For Free - Kendrick Lamar
The vocal range and dynamics is amazing and the delivery compliments the powerful message perfectly. I love hearing poetry in music and Kendrick is incredible at it.
