A Ko, Ting-Yun Photo
Name, where are you from?
Ko, Ting-Yun, Taiwan.
What do you do?
Keyboardist of Wayne’s So Sad.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
I went to The Jesus and Mary Chain live at Legacy Taipei in 2019. I was so happy to hear the songs and had so many memories. I was deeply impressed, especially when they played 'Head On'. It made me cry.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
Japanese anime, manga, movies and v-rock influenced me a lot.
Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
2020, "A Wrinkle in Time" at Legacy Taipei. We took part in the show, and it was very impressive for me. Because many Taiwanese indie bands (Sleaze, Boyz & Girl, Forests, Touming Magazines, etc.) were also played. Wayne's So Sad also did a gig in 2019 at the same venue, it’s the first time that we had over 1000 participators at our live show. I had so many memories at Legacy Taipei. It's a special venue for me.
If you could be on the line up with any band in history?
Queen. I wish I saw them live.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Ian Curtis of Joy Division.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
A band called Japan. They're not well-known in Taiwan, When I first heard the song 'Nightporter', I was reminded that music is indeed very important to me again. My Heroes.
The first track you played on repeat?
'Strawberry Fields Forever' by The Beatles. It's a dive into an endless fantasy.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'Mizuiro no Machi' by Spitz. I used to listen to this song on the school bus during the boring days of my high school life.
One record you would keep forever?
'Tin Drum' by Japan. I can go to my dream world anytime with 'Tin Drum' by Japan.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
'Tatoeba Boku ga Shindara' by Doji Morita. It’s such a beautiful song.
Best song to turn up loud?
'Linda Linda' by The Blue Hearts. When I sing this song it always makes me feel happy and high.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Don't Look Back In Anger' by Oasis.
New bands you are listening to now?
Sakuran Zensen. They make me feel pure as I listen to their attractive exhilarating lyrics.
