Describe your style in three words?
James Douglas Morrison.
The first track you played on repeat?
The Rolling Stones - Miss You - Remastered
My mom played it in the car once when I was like 11 and it’s been my #1 ever since! Soooo good and groovy and totally disco.
A song from your favorite album?
Led Zeppelin - The Rain Song - 2012 Remaster
On my 'Houses of the Holy' vinyl, of course! It’s so melodic compared to other zep songs. not that the others aren’t. This one is just indescribable and beyond compare.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Cream - Strange Brew
It wasn’t really a gig. just me and a few friends jamming out to tunes at one’s house and showing each other our mediocre guitar playing skills. Clapton! you make some fantastic yet difficult riffs.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
The Rolling Stones - She's So Cold - Remastered
I just put it on randomly and just dance. Crazy dance. Like, transport me back in time, please! Such a good song for road trips, etc.
A new song you're listening to?
Post Animal - When I Get Home
I found this on my Discover Weekly playlist on Spotify like three weeks ago. It’s just super dreamy and steamy lol. Mystical almost.
Best song to turn up loud?
The Doors - L.A. Woman
Anywhere and everywhere. Spotify, on my 'LA Woman' vinyl record, in the car, vibing out while making mac and cheese. You just feel like you’re in 1971 Jim Morrison concho belt NECESSARY! I feel like I’m driving a GTO and some aviators while driving down Sunset Blvd.
A song that defines the teenage you?
Alice Phoebe Lou - Witches
I just was on Spotify one day and it was like “Hey Alice Phoebe Lou...” (an artist I had already been listening to) “...has a new single out!” makes you wanna dance with your girlfriends outside in the backyard at night with the bonfire crackling. The lyrics are about longing.
An anthemic song?
Eagles - Seven Bridges Road - Live at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, Santa Monica, CA, 7/28/1980; 2018 Remaster
Total 1974 road trip song. The harmony at the beginning is ear candy! then how it’s just simple G C D chords the whole way through on behind the vocals. Simple yet classic.
Best song to end an all-nighter?
The Clash - Overpowered by Funk - Remastered
my groovy friends Sasha and I listen to it every time we hang out :) whether it’s 7pm or 5:30am we’re always up for some Clash!!! “Don’t you love our western wayyyys”
