Name, where are you from?
Romano van de Mas, Hamburg, Germany.
What do you do?
I'm a Producer, DJ, Host, Model and regularly working as a landscape architect.
Describe your style in three words?
Modestly, modern, elegant.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
1. A KUR (The name of my event) in which Robert Hood stands behind you and celebrates on your set.
2. A legendary nine-hour closing set at the party of a good friend 'Thorsten Junge' called 'Kinky Sundays' who was completely insane.
3. An eight hour B2B closing set with 'Stranger' in the Kurhotel.
If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
I need 3 sorry:
1. The wizard, Jeff Mills. Literally the godfather. I would just stand behind Jeff for three hours and just watch him.
2. Green Velvet. Cameras ready prepare the flash.
3. Art Department REUNITED!! Unfortunately, they don't tour together anymore. But the guys were the biggest influence on me when I started making music by myself at 14.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
Indie. In their lyrics, indie bands gave me answers to questions that bothered me as a teenager.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Just my Grandma, she saved me multiple times. she’s the reason I’m able to answer these questions right now.
Of all the independent venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
Kurhotel. It was a magic area with an incomparable atmosphere and the best and kindest team ever. I’m really thankful for this amazing time, which had a huge impact on me.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
KALHER. Just wait a few years and you’ll see.

The first track you played on repeat?
'Can’t Get You Out Of My Head' by Kylie Minogue. I was six years old when I took my shirt off and placed it on my head so I would have long waving hairs as well. Then I was dancing with Kylie in our living room (unfortunately it was just the VIVA Kylie) but I bothered my parents from this point on).
A song that defines the teenage you?
'Simple Little Melody' by The Black Eyed Peas. Always kickin‘ me back to these days. Do you hear this? My broken heart is calling hahaha, damn.
One record you would keep forever?
'Oracular Spectacular' by MGMT. I think it’s still one of the best indie albums, so multifaceted.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
'In The Air Tonight' by Phil Collins.
A song you wished you had written?
'Das ist alles von der Kunsdreiheit gedeckt' by Danger Dan.
Best song to turn up loud?
'Being Mother Natures Bitch' by Okay Kaya.
