Describe your style in three words?
Modern Minimal Sharp
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
XTC - Senses Working Overtime - Remastered
Found a pirate radio station when I was 15, they were playing this song. I had a Panasonic tape recorder I would tape songs from the radio on, got this one and plays it over and over until I found the record at a shop in the city and fell for XTC fully after that!
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
The Jesus and Mary Chain - My Little Underground
This album defined my college days fully, was declaring I was an artist and needed my anthems and this song in particular fit my mindset to a T.
A song from your most memorable gig?
The Verve - Already There - 2016 Remastered
The Verve’s first US tour and first time in Seattle and Richard Ashcroft was in his zone and when this song fell in, I felt like the room elevated as one!
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Suicide - Ghost Rider - 2019 - Remaster
That pulse and edge starting this tune off just gets my entire body going, it’s a heartbeat wrapped inside chainsaw!
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Stormzy - Big Michael
The hook the energy, it’s got it all and it’s been looping as I paint in my studio lately.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
Black Flag - Rise Above
Before I go racing a crit on my bike I crank this and it always builds my sense of confidence up and charges my internal batteries.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
DEVO - Uncontrollable Urge
My first new wave show was DEVO and this song when it came up, well I again just held on tight and danced confidently for the first time in my life, it was a breakthrough moment for me!
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Mudhoney - Touch Me I'm Sick
They were friends of mine who scratched a musical itch at a particular time and place in my youth, it never gets old for me and I play it regularly to this day!
Best song to end an all-nighter?
The Specials - Ghost Town
It again just wraps a night up like a gift and lays it out for all to see and hear, it’s a classic that never makes one feel bad for calling it a night, cheers to that!
