Name, where are you from?
Tim Lanham, from Sunshine Coast, Australia - now based in London.
Describe your style in three words?
Out Of Date.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Queens Of The Stone Age - unexpectedly visceral and powerful, like a true wall of guitars.
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin, because they were pillars of that incredible era and were taken in the midst of it, also would probably mean I’d be playing Woodstock '69.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
The lo-fi scene from Ariel Pink, John Maus through to Mac DeMarco, I love the weird and wonderful sonics when it's not too polished.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
JRR Tolkien, I know the man can talk, it would be a download of incredible information.
Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
Royal Albert Hall, it’s so prestigious it felt like I wasn’t supposed to be on the stage.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Harry Nilsson- I know he’s well known, but not thaaaat well known considering his wild discography.
T Truman, the solo project and alter ego of The Vaccines’ keyboardist Timothy Lanham, recently releases his new EP 'Luxury Star'. Listen, purchase or stream it via ffm.bio/peo6d89.
The first track you played on repeat?
As a kid was 'I'm Gonna Be (500 miles) by The Proclaimers.
A song that defines the teenage you?
'Reptilia' by The Strokes.
One record you would keep forever?
'The Suburbs' by Arcade Fire.
A song lyric that has inspired you?
"I know we don’t see eye to eye / But I need you / and you’re always on my mind"
From 'Impregnable Question' by Dirty Projectors. David Longstreth then sampled this line and used it in a break-up song years later which I thought was genius.
The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'I'm Coming Out' by Diana Ross.
A song you wished you had written?
'Strange Overtones' by David Byrne, Brian Eno.
Best song to turn up loud?
'Dance Yrself Clean' by LCD Soundsystem.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'SICKO MODE' by Travis Scott.
Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'Hey Ya!' by Outkast.
Any new music you are listening to right now?
'Harbour' by Cate Le Bon.
'40 Days Unclean' by Sunglasses For Jaws.
'Enemies' by Nicolas Michaux.
'Two Face' by L’rain.
