03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Cool retro casual

The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?

Beastie Boys - Fight For Your Right

One of the first records I owned in my teens. It mixed rap and rock, what's not to be loved about that?

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

Beck - Devils Haircut

I probably entered the contemporary "indie" scene with this album, and started DJing around this time.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Wilson Pickett - In the Midnight Hour

It was in my hometown in Galicia, a gig with Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Eric Burdon... forever in my mind.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Fatboy Slim - Praise You - Purple Disco Machine Remix

Any version/remix works for me, this one by Purple Disco Machine is probably the best.

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

Electric Guest - Dollar - Cha Cha Version

I'm love the new funky trends, this version of Electric Guest's Dollar gets me going.

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

The Beatles - Helter Skelter - Remastered 2009

Anywhere and everywhere: at the living, on my headphones for a walk, or from the booth while Djing for 800 people. The Beatles go HEAVY on this one.

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

Public Enemy - Bring The Noise

My fist music obsession: rap music. I remember listening to PE with my best friend, memorizing the lyrics, and not having the slightest idea about their meaning back then. Still love those records.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody - 2011 Mix

Do I really have to explain anything about this song?

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Xoel López - Tierra

I like to chill before hitting the bed, so this is the perfect one for me: hear my brother Xoel sing about coming back home from a long journey that never ends.
