03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Punk, mod, wave.

The first track you played on repeat?

Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've?) - 1996 Remastered Version

I first listened to it on a cassette tape that a friend bought from Portobello Market. It was the first time I got hung up on a punk rock song with a melody.

A song from your favorite album?

The Cure - Boys Don't Cry

I purchased and got this vinyl by MAIL POST in the early '80s. Perfect balance between punk and new wave music.

A song from your most memorable gig?

The Stranglers - No More Heroes - 1996 Remaster

I have attended several Stranglers gigs but their Greatest Hits show at Razzmatazz Barcelona from their 2009 tour was amazing.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

The Style Council - Shout To The Top

How can anyone stand still to this Modfather’s optimistic and vibrant beat? I just can’t!

A new song you're listening to?

The Reflectors - Teenage Hearts

This L.A. band are definitely the next big thing for 21st-century power pop music.

Best song to turn up loud?

The Romantics - What I Like About You

The Romantics to me are the landmark of the early '80s American new wave movement.

A song that defines the teenage you?

The Psychedelic Furs - Heaven

I started deejaying when I was a very very young kid, and I became obsessed with this song as I used to play it at the first nightclub I was a resident in.

An anthemic song?

Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart - 2020 Remaster

The masterpiece of post-punk that best describes the grief and sorrow at the end of a love affair. We chose to cover it with one of my bands @LyditiniW: it is a very saddening but always welcome song.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

The Dictators - Who Will Save Rock And Roll?

A timeless singalong anthem that audiences shout at the top of their lungs!
