The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?

The Moldy Peaches - Who's Got The Crack

This is the first track I learned on guitar. I was about 12, borrowing my sisters guitar, fancying myself as one of those cool kids in a band. Needless to say, I had no idea it was about ACTUAL crack. This whole album is incredible.

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

Girls - Lust for Life

This song is the reason why I've sat on multiple songs at sunset with pizza and a bottle of wine, and have always wanted to go to San Francisco. It's all about accepting that life is kind of crap, but just rolling with it and having a good time.

A song from your most memorable gig?

The Cribs - Hello? Oh...

I used to be massively obsessed with The Cribs, from maybe the age of 10 to 17. Every gig I went to of theirs, I was always right at the front, and came out with purple bruises on my ribcage. Obviously, I showed them off at school proudly as a trophy of my rockstar rebel status.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Adam Green - Dance With Me (EP Version)

I think one of my first major artist obsessions was with Adam Green, just because he was the first artist on my iPod from my sister's music collection. This is probably the most innocent and popular song in his entire discography, and it's bangin'.

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

Alice Phoebe Lou - My Outside

I first heard of APL when she played in Rough Trade, and was encapsulated by the first listen. She manages to combine elements of Folk, Jazz, Blues and Techno, with intimate and relevant lyrics, all combined to create a completely mesmerising album.

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

The Comet Is Coming - Summon The Fire

This was the first single released from this Jazz trio (led by Shabaka Hutchings from Sons of Kemet). It's a trance-inducing track, with relentless repetitions to get you addicted. Turn this up REALLY loud and freak out.

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

Vivian Girls - Take It As It Comes

This song speaks about the mad obsessive stage that every teenager goes through, written as a parody about those boy-needy angsty years. Vivian Girls also opened my eyes to a whole lot of seminal indie pop acts like Talulah Gosh, Cassie Ramones solo works, and even Kevin Morby.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

Joni Mitchell - All I Want

When I first heard this song, I listened to it about 25 times over and just basked myself in its beauty. This is a power-anthem, a personal outcry about being hurt by love, jealousy and greed but letting down your guard in hope to giving yourself that happiness again.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Ariel Pink - Baby

It's a more soothing version of the Donnie and Joe Emerson's original, providing the ultimate soundtrack to the end of your mad one, both sexy and soporific. Everything you need after a big one.
