Celebrating 70 years since the first Fred Perry polo shirt was unveiled, Fred Perry: A British Icon charts the evolution of our brand and its enduring global appeal. Visitors will be able to explore our beginnings in 1950s Britain, through rare archival material and early prototypes, plus explore the intricacies of the brand’s identity today, tracing the Laurel Wreath’s adoption into countless subcultures and by global pop culture icons.

Fred Perry: A British Icon is free for visitors. Join us in the Design Museum’s Helene and Johannes Huth Gallery until 19th June 2022.
Officially opening its doors to the public Friday 10th June, Thursday night saw us gather our community and celebrate the exhibition in the only way we know how – good drinks and great music.
Soul queen Scarlett O’Malley got the party started with an upbeat set of house and disco, with some Gil Scott-Heron getting everyone in the mood for the night.
Passing the baton onto London electronic duo Real Lies, the vibe morphed into Balearic bangers, with tech-house warming up the crowd.
Finally, ABSOLUTE. shut down the party in style, with a vibrant set of house bangers, rave classics and remixes of ABBA and Donna Summer getting everyone up and dancing.
